Our mission is to promote and grow the sport of roller derby in SAlt Lake City

Our mission is to promote and grow the sport of roller derby in Salt Lake City by providing a safe and inclusive space for all individuals to learn, practice, and compete. We strive to empower women, children and members of the LGBTQ+ community through the physical and mental challenges of roller derby, and to foster a culture of sportsmanship and respect among our members and opponents. By teaching the skills and strategies of roller derby and encouraging teamwork and self-improvement, we aim to create a positive and supportive community that celebrates diversity and athleticism.

Our STORy

Salt Lake Roller Derby was founded in 2020 with a focus on promoting physical and mental health, and social connection. Our home, the Derby Depot, was founded in 2008 by Honey and Madusa, who have since retired but have left a lasting legacy on the sport of Roller Derby in Salt Lake City.
At Salt Lake Roller Derby, we believe in the transformative power of roller derby to improve physical and mental health, as well as provide a sense of purpose and belonging. Our four leagues – Wasatch Jr. Roller, Wasatch Roller Derby, Beehive Skate Revolution, and Uinta Madness – provide opportunities for skaters of all ages and genders to come together and participate in this exciting and demanding sport.
Through roller derby, our members are able to improve their physical fitness, learn new skills, and connect with others who share a love of the sport. In addition, the strong sense of community within Salt Lake Roller Derby provides a supportive and welcoming environment for personal growth and development. We are proud to be a positive force for physical and mental health, and social connection in Salt Lake City.
